RipEX & M!DGE

Designed for new and less experienced users, this introductory training provides an overview of RACOM RipEX and M!DGE products, including their key hardware features, interfaces, accessories, and available hardware options. Participants will become familiar with the responsive web management interface, user authentication, configuration procedures, and the overall architecture of the administration environment. The session also covers essential maintenance tasks such as configuration backup and firmware upgrades, basic diagnostics and statistics, and an introduction to RipEX2 radio protocols, including Bridge (Transparent) and Router modes (Flexible and BDP).

RAy

Designed for new and less experienced users, this introductory training provides a comprehensive overview of RACOM RAy microwave links. Participants will explore key hardware features, including interface connectors, power supply options, Ethernet connectivity, data throughput, and polarization, USB accessories. The session covers essential practical aspects such as frequency band specifics, cabling, antenna installation, and accessories. Attendees will also become familiar with the web management interface, including user account administration, settings radio interface and firmware update procedures.

David and Vít will open the conference with a company update on RACOM’s current direction, key developments and priorities for the years ahead. The keynote will connect product innovation, market needs, organisational growth and RACOM’s long-term commitment to reliable communication for critical infrastructure, setting the tone for the conference programme.

Global Regulatory Outlook – Now and in the future (Václav Stupka, Masaryk University in Prague)

Cybersecurity legislation is moving quickly from abstract policy to concrete operational obligations. In this session, Václav Stupka will provide a practical legal overview of the current and upcoming regulatory landscape affecting critical communication, industrial systems and connected products — from NIS2 and national cybersecurity rules to the EU Cyber Resilience Act and US Cyber Security Act and other related developments.

Product Updates: RipEX, RAy, M!DGE (Pavel Pejchal, Tomáš Mrázek; RACOM)

Pavel will introduce the latest developments in RACOM’s RipEX radio platform and RAy microwave links, focusing on security, reliability and readiness for the EU Cyber Resilience Act. The session will show how RACOM is evolving its products to meet new cybersecurity expectations while preserving the robustness required in critical communication networks.

Tomáš will introduce the latest advancements in RACOM’s M!DGE cellular router platform, with a focus on 5G technology. The talk will highlight how cellular connectivity can support secure, resilient and flexible communication architectures for SCADA, telemetry and critical infrastructure.

New Products: NetSPIDER, WaSP (Zdeněk Karmazin, Marek Bobula; RACOM)

Zdeněk will introduce NetSPIDER, RACOM’s network management suite for critical communication networks. The session will show how NetSPIDER helps operators simplify network administration, improve visibility, manage firmware and support secure lifecycle maintenance across larger deployments.

Marek Bobula will introduce RACOM’s new embedded radio product line and its first product, WaSP, designed for defence UxV communication applications. The talk will present how RACOM’s experience in mission-critical communications is being adapted to compact, secure and resilient radio systems for demanding defence environments.

How do regulations translate into secure products and resilient real-world networks? This panel brings together regulatory, product and network perspectives to explore where requirements align, where gaps emerge and how better collaboration can turn compliance into effective security.

Operational Disruption Cases

This talk examines real-world disruptions of command-and-control, SCADA and critical communication systems caused by non-state actors. It covers both deliberate cyberattacks by hackers and operational failures involving telecom operators, cloud and software providers, managed services, contractors and supply-chain partners. Through selected cases, it explores how these incidents interrupt physical operations, expose hidden dependencies and single points of failure, complicate recovery, and demonstrate the need for stronger resilience, redundancy and incident response.

How Critical Communication Systems Are Attacked (Omar Morando, Director of OT Cybersecurity @ EY and OT Cybersecurity Expert)

Modern OT attacks are no longer limited to noisy scans, simple protocol abuse or isolated PLC manipulation. In this session, Omar will take the audience inside this evolution of OT offensive techniques, showing how adversary behaviour has changed from traditional SCADA/PLC attacks toward more sophisticated “living off the PLC” approaches. Based on his latest research and practical work with SCADAsploit, the talk will demonstrate how attackers can compromise industrial environments, pivot across IT/OT boundaries and abuse legitimate automation functionality – with the clear defensive purpose of helping operators, integrators and manufacturers understand what must be monitored, segmented, hardened and tested in modern critical communication networks.

1. Guided tour of Lobkowicz Chateau including a visit to the owner’s private terrace with a stunning view of the confluence of the rivers
2. A visit to the medieval castle cellars including a tasting of wines still produced in these cellars today
3. Short walk through the historic center of Mělník, including a visit to the ossuary in the Church of St. Peter and Paul, one of the oldest churches in Bohemia. The 16th-century ossuary contains the bones of 10,000 people who died during plague epidemics. A tour of the 13th-century medieval underground passages beneath the square, which served as a refuge during fires or times of war
4. Coffee and informal networking in the castle restaurant and patisserie

Practical AI in SCADA (Martin Vystrčil, RACOM)

Air-gapped SCADA networks are usually designed to keep intelligence, automation and connectivity carefully separated. But this does not mean AI has no role to play. In his session, Martin will show how AI agents can be used safely and practically around critical communication infrastructure — not by connecting protected networks to the cloud, but by helping engineers, operators and integrators work more efficiently with the systems they already control. Martin will show how AI can help generate Python scripts for RACOM’s new Scripting feature in RipEX and M!DGE units, turning communication devices into lightweight edge compute nodes capable of local logic, automation and data processing. The result is a practical vision of AI in SCADA: secure, controlled, operator-driven and useful even in environments where the operational network itself remains isolated.

Strategic Resilience (Jan Lukačevič, space engineer, technology advisor, formerly advisor to the NATO Secretary General)

Protection of the critical infrastructure goes beyond technical concerns. Nowadays, critical communications and infrastructure underpin the essential services, institutions and decision-making processes on which modern society depends. Jan will explore strategic resilience from this broader perspective: how governments, infrastructure operators, industry and communities can prepare for disruption utilise strategic and crisis communication, and adapt under pressure and maintain essential functions in an increasingly complex security environment.

Group A – RipEX & M!DGE

Designed for experienced engineers and system integrators, this hands-on training focuses on advanced deployment, security, and troubleshooting of RipEX and M!DGE networks. Participants will work with real-world examples covering routing, redundancy, radio optimization, serial and IP communications, VPNs, firewalls, cellular connectivity, and network diagnostics. You will learn how to configure full-duplex links in Bridge mode and optimize radio communications in Router mode using Flexible and BDP protocols, dynamic routing, and ACM. The training also provides an in-depth look at cybersecurity features, including AES encryption, local authentication, RADIUS integration, key rotation, certificate management, custom remote access keys, and the protection of critical communication infrastructure.

While Thursday’s training focuses specifically on security in critical communication, Friday’s extended sales workshop takes a broader commercial perspective.

A moderated interactive workshop focused on sharing practical sales experience and real customer cases. Together, we will examine how to communicate the RACOM brand, differentiate our solutions and build convincing sales arguments across products, industries and markets. Participants are encouraged to share their own experiences, proven sales approaches, and lessons learned from their local markets.
